On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 12:00–5:30 PM, the WMCN Partner and Annual Meeting was held at Hemlock Crossing Nature Center (8115 W Olive Rd, West Olive, MI 49460). Fifty-four people attended, representing 27 WMCN partner organizations, four individual members, and one governmental representative from Senator Gary Peters’ office.
We appreciate everyone who took time from their busy schedules to share slides highlighting yearly accomplishments and to contribute to the ongoing conversation about advancing WMCN’s mission and goals. New this year, attendees split into small groups to discuss Prescribed Fire, Invasive Workdays, Native Plants, Trails, Restoration , and Watershed topics.
Thank you to Ottawa County Parks and Recreation for hosting the meeting at Hemlock Crossing Nature Center. Congratulations to Becky Huttenga, Justin Heslinga, and Lea Sevigny for receiving WMCN’s Conservation Leadership Recognition Award. Each of them has supported WMCN’s mission in meaningful ways over the years, and the network would not be where it is today without their
contributions.
Join us Thursday, November 5, 2026 from 10:30-5:00 to celebrate the West Michigan Conservation Network’s 20th Anniversary and attend our Annual Meeting. We’ll mark two decades of partnership, progress, and conservation successes with short presentations, special
recognition, networking, and celebration.
